News from Germany

Hey girls!
How are you? I'm so sorry that I didn't use this blog for such a long time. Shame on me! As some of you already know, Kristin and I finished our exams this summer and had a lot of stress doing that. Luckily, my exams went extremely well, and I'm quite happy about that.

At the end of July and beginnig of August, Malte and I finally went to visit Svava and Krissi and had 11 wonderful days in Niceland. We fell in love with that f***ing awesome country at once and really have to come back and see the rest! Iceland is sooo beautiful and different from Germany!!! And I was so happy to see Svava, Krissi and Hjördis again. Oh, I miss you!!! Hopefully next time, we also manage to visit our two ladies further in the north ;)

Now back in Germany, I already started my 2-year-practical training (Referendariat) in a primary and lower secondary school 25 km away from my parents' home. Therefore, I had to move back to my parents' farm where Malte, my sister and I renovated two rooms for me and got myself a car (Toyota Yaris in silver, 5 doors, 4 years old and 26,000 km). I have to teach a very sweet first grade in mathematics (5 lessons per week) and one lesson in art. Then, I have 2 English lessons in a 3rd grade, 1 English lesson in a 7th grade, one lesson in a 7th and 8th grade (mixed course) and 2 lessons in a 10th grade. As you can see, I have to teach a wide range of different ages. The pupils in primary school are great and I really like to teach them! They are always happy when they see me. Teaching the older ones is much harder - especially with the 7th and 8th graders. Boah, they can be extremely annoying and disturbing! At least the 10th class is working better again. Although my time management is rellay not the best and I sometimes have to sit and prepare my stuff late at night, I'm still enjoying the new job! Right at the moment, I'm enjoying my two weeks off (autumn break) and am already trying to prepare at least some stuff for the coming weeks. But next Friday, Malte and I are going to visit my sister in her new home in Amstrerdam. I'm really looking forward to that trip because I have heard so many good things about that city.

But what about you, sillybillies?

Hope to hear from you, soon.

Hugs from Kerstin!
